Engage was established in 2011 by Michael Tomordy, the former founder and leader of both Arup’s IT practice and Arup’s Security Consulting practice in Asia.

 

At Engage, Michael works with experienced technology and risk specialists from consulting, contracting and clientside backgrounds. This senior team provides extensive expertise in strategy, design, procurement and project management.

 

Since first launching Engage in Hong Kong and Macau, Michael and his colleagues have worked on more than 500 projects in Asia Pacific and the Middle East, including many complex large-scale construction and fit-out developments as well as business critical assignments. Engage’s team is located across Asia to serve clients locally and internationally.

Michael Tomordy, Founder & Managing Director, Engage Asia

Michael Tomordy is originally from London but has lived and worked in Asia since 1997.

 

Michael is a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). He is also a Fellow and Engineering Supervisor for the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE).

 

In addition, Michael is on the UK Government Security Registry and is a member of the US Government Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC). He has also been a committee member for the Hong Kong chapter of ASIS International. 

 

In 2009, he received the prestigious Outstanding Individual In Industry award in the Systems & Architecture category from RFP magazine.

 

Michael founded Engage Asia after working for Arup for 18 years, setting up and leading both Arup’s IT & Communications practice and Arup’s Risk & Security practice in Asia.

 

Michael is also a keen mountaineer, reaching the summit of Mount Everest in 2018. He has written a handbook based on his experience called A Practical Guide and Tips to Climbing Mount Everest, available on Amazon.
